• Full Time: 3 Years 6 Months

• Pass STPM with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 and at least TWO (2) full passes, and ONE (1) of them in a subject related to Islamic Studies; OR
• Pass a qualification equivalent to STPM such as A-level, provided the applicant passes at least ONE (1) Islamic Studies subject in that qualification; OR
• Pass a Foundation / Matriculation program or recognized equivalent as Islamic Studies Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00; OR
• Pass STAM with an overall Maqbul grade; OR
• Recognized Diploma in Islamic Studies or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00.

1. What will students learn in the Bachelor of Usuluddin with Honours programme?

Students in the Bachelor of Usuluddin with Honours programme will study a wide range of disciplines related to Tauhid (Theology), Tafsir (Exegesis), Ulum al-Quran (Quranic Sciences), Hadith, Ulum al-Hadith (Hadith Sciences), Takhrij Hadis (Hadith Verification), Dakwah (Outreach), Tasawuf and Akhlak (Islamic Mysticism and Ethics), and many other fundamental disciplines within the field of Usuluddin. Additionally, students are exposed to other Islamic studies disciplines such as Fiqh (Jurisprudence), Arabic language, and the Al-Quran, all structured to meet the contemporary needs of the Islamic affairs industry, religious administration, dakwah, and higher education best practices. The curriculum also integrates essential elements of research skills, critical analysis, strategic thinking, and technological applications aligned with job market requirements.

2. Is the medium of instruction entirely in Arabic?

Several core courses in the Bachelor of Usuluddin with Honours programme utilize Arabic as the medium of instruction. However, there are also courses taught in Malay or English, depending on the specific requirements of the course. Our Arabic-speaking faculty members are fully prepared to guide students in improving their Arabic proficiency throughout their duration of study.

4. Are Bachelor of Usuluddin with Honours students required to memorise the Al-Quran?

 The Bachelor of Usuluddin with Honoursprogramme does not require students to memorise the entire Al-Quran like a specialized tahfiz programme. Nevertheless, students are required to complete a series of four Hifz al-Quran courses, which involve memorising selected surahs as outlined in the course syllabus.
